چکیده

Flavescence dorée (FD) is a grapevine disease caused by associated phytoplasmas (FDp) which are epidemically spread their main vector Scaphoideus titanus. The possible roles of alternative and secondary FDp plant hosts vectors have gained interest in terms better understanding the ecology epidemiology. findings survey conducted surroundings three vineyards southern Swiss Alps aimed at studying epidemiological role Orientus ishidae host Alnus glutinosa reported. This work demonstrates that O. able to complete its biological cycle on A. acquire 16SrV very efficiently with an infection rate 69% for nymphal instars 85% imagoes. A high prevalence map genotype M50 (map type FD1), included S. titanus—grapevine cycle, was found glutinosa. Additionally, M12 FD3), M44 M47 were also sporadically detected. Surprisingly, grapevines tested during this all infected M54 FD2) only, while few titanus caught vineyard canopy free. In conclusion, occurrence common alder stands nearby do not seem play prominent FD epidemics Switzerland. Nevertheless, wild vegetation acts as reservoir inoculum, may locally trigger emergence if populations established inside vineyards.

Metabolic Consequences of Infection of Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) cv. “Modra frankinja” with Flavescence Dorée Phytoplasma

Flavescence dorée, caused by the quarantine phytoplasma FDp, represents the most devastating of the grapevine yellows diseases in Europe. In an integrated study we have explored the FDp-grapevine interaction in infected grapevines of cv. "Modra frankinja" under natural conditions in the vineyard. In FDp-infected leaf vein-enriched tissues, the seasonal transcriptional profiles of 14 genes selec...

Acquisition of Flavescence Dorée Phytoplasma by Scaphoideus titanus Ball from Different Grapevine Varieties

Flavescence dorée (FD) is a threat for wine production in the vineyard landscape of Piemonte, Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, Italy. Spread of the disease is dependent on complex interactions between insect, plant and phytoplasma. In the Piemonte region, wine production is based on local cultivars. The role of six local grapevine varieties as a source of inoculum for the vector Scaphoideus titanus...

LAMP assay and rapid sample preparation method for on-site detection of flavescence dorée phytoplasma in grapevine

In Europe the most devastating phytoplasma associated with grapevine yellows (GY) diseases is a quarantine pest, flavescence dorée (FDp), from the 16SrV taxonomic group. The on-site detection of FDp with an affordable device would contribute to faster and more efficient decisions on the control measures for FDp. Therefore, a real-time isothermal LAMP assay for detection of FDp was validated acc...

Proteome responses of Vitis vinifera L. to ‘flavescence dorée’ phytoplasma infection

‘Flavescence dorée’ is a serious phytoplasma disease affecting grapevine in several European countries. We are currently studying the interaction of ‘flavescence dorée’ phytoplasma with its natural plant host, by monitoring the effects of infection on the protein expression profile. The red-berried V. vinifera cv. Nebbiolo and Barbera were the source of plant material, as they are widely grown ...

Contrasting Susceptibilities to Flavescence Dorée in Vitis vinifera, Rootstocks and Wild Vitis Species

Flavescence dorée (FD) is a quarantine disease of grapevine, involving interactions between the plants, leafhopper vectors, and FD phytoplasma. Characterizing the susceptibility of vine varieties could limit disease propagation. After extensive surveys in vineyards, we showed that Cabernet Sauvignon (CS) is highly susceptible, with a high proportion of symptomatic branches and phytoplasma titer...
